COVID-19 Update from Kelly Grover
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Cystic Fibrosis Canada continues to follow directives from the Public Health Agency of Canada, and all CF Canada offices have closed, with staff working from home until April 30th. Staff have been advised to socially isolate and closely follow the directions of public health officials in our communities. Although our team is working remotely, we are as committed as ever to ensuring that the work we do on behalf of Canadians with cystic fibrosis continues throughout this challenging period.
Furthermore, we are postponing or cancelling all CF Canada events until further notice. Some events, like the Decant Gala in Toronto have been cancelled for 2020; other events, like the Face Off Gala in Edmonton are postponed. I encourage you to connect with your regional CF Canada office if you have specific you have specific questions about an event.
We encourage those who had planned third-party fundraising events in the community to either postpone or hold those events virtually – we’ll be providing some tips and ideas for this soon. Our community’s largest event, and the greatest source of revenue for CF Canada, The Walk to Make Cystic Fibrosis History, will still be held May 31st, but it will be entirely virtual.
The length of these restrictions and impact on our fundraising revenue remains to be seen, but we are determined to find new ways to work together, support one another, try different ways to raise funds, and ensure that the CF community has the information and support it needs to navigate these uncertain times.
Thank you for your patience and support as we navigate this unprecedented situation.
Take care,
Kelly Grover
