Immediate Action Required
While Health Canada’s decision to expand Trikafta access is a step forward, it does not give immediate access to those it has been approved for. And there are others, who were not approved, who may respond to Trikafta, who are getting sicker and sicker as they wait for access. We must continue to advocate to ensure that everyone has the right to try this life-transforming treatment now.

Dr. Paul Eckford, Chief Scientific Officer for Cystic Fibrosis Canada, says: “We call on CDA and INESSS to move swiftly to recommend funding. However, provincial and territorial governments should not wait for these decisions to act, nor should private drug plans. They have the power to fund Trikafta now for these additional genetic profiles and must do so today to prevent further delays in treatment for those who need it."
